Kiwanis Club of Columbus
We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 5:30-7:00pm in Columbus Indiana. Please check club website www.ColumbusEveningKiwanis.org for meeting location. Members are encouraged to make as many meetings as possible but participation in events and fundraisers is where members are really needed.
What can I expect at a club meeting? As members arrive at restaurant, they will order from the standard menu and will receive an individual check for payment at end of meal. Additionally, members deposit a quarter into the ‘Jingle in Your Jeans’ container. Meal cost can vary from about $10 plus tip to greater. During dinner, fellowship including community interests are discussed and member events are celebrated. Following dinner, the meeting is opened by singing America, saying the Pledge of Allegiance, and a member provided invocation. Club announcements and business topics may be discussed. The majority of the time is reserved for a program which usually consists of an invited speaker presenting a topic of interest to the membership. At the end of the meeting, the Jingle in Your Jeans number is matched to an attending member. Member will then provide a local agency name to donate the collected quarters or indicate that the funds will roll over till the next meeting..
Membership The process is ‘Just Ask.’ · A current member should always be asking their friends, business associates or others with whom they enjoy interacting. · A potential member, once they have found out about the club and find the activities ones that they would enjoy a commitment to, needs to complete a membership application and pay their annual dues.
